Meet the founder - John Hardin
from treehouses to masterpieces
Born and raised in East Tennessee, John Hardin's woodworking passion began and bloomed through treehouses, barns, and stunning home transformations. At 18, John followed the call of adventure and enlisted in the Navy. Stationed in Norfolk, John brought in saws and tools, transforming his barracks room into a haven of creativity, crafting gifts for his fellow servicemen and family. Inspired by the support of his peers, he took a leap of faith, leaving the military to pursue his passion.
Moving to a modest one-car garage, John’s dream took shape as he breathed life into furniture that exuded artistry and fostered connections among people. His working space became a sanctuary for active-duty military, hundreds of miles away from home, to find a home away from home.
Despite several unexpected obstacles life presented, his soaring ambitions and dedication to his craft allowed his business to flourish. From a humble garage, to a 1500 sqft space, and now, nestled in a 7000 sqft woodshop, John brings customers' dreams to life, treating each creation as if it were his own.
Within the supportive Ghent and Railroad districts, John not only has the opportunity to do what he loves most, but also to share his knowledge with friends and employees, imparting the time-honored trade that had woven itself into his essence.
"I always strive for this company to be successful, but because of the great community around me, it has blossomed into something I never imagined, and we've only just begun."
